This hybrid, introductory course in Concussion Management will cover the lifespan of a concussion from the acute injury to post-concussive management. The participants will obtain general neuro-anatomy and physiology of a concussion including prevalence and incidence rates. This course will cover acute concussion assessment, clinical testing, including subjective and objective examinations, allowing for differential diagnosis and one-on-one assessment for the individual. A brief review of BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) and treatment will be covered for this population. Appropriate vestibular rehabilitation protocols will be addressed for this population with cognitive challenges applied. Finally, patient and family education on return to sport, school, and work will be discussed.
