Bonnie Mangino


PT, MPT, COMT

Bonnie received her BS in Biology with a concentration in Physical Therapy from East Stroudsburg University in 1995. She went on to receive her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Hahnemann University in 1997.  She successfully attained Vestibular Competency Credentialing through Emory University and the APTA in 2012 and received her Maitland COMT in 2013. She completed the Trigger Point Dry Needling certification through the Institute of Advanced Musculoskeletal Treatments (IAMT) in 2015. She has worked in a variety of outpatient orthopedic clinical settings before landing at Rex/UNC Healthcare in 2014 in Cary, NC where she was the Clinic Lead Therapist and the Vestibular Clinical Specialist for all UNC Rex hospital staff for 8 years. She has been a manual therapist since 2000 and has a diverse clinical background including Maitland, McKenzie, NAIOMT, and Kaltenborn-Evjenth. Her philosophy of care emphasizes patient education, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise with the ultimate goals of functional improvement and patient satisfaction.  She retired from physical therapy in 2022 and now works with UNC Rex as an Instructional Designer. In her spare time, she enjoys mountain biking, hiking, reading, and cooking. But most of all she enjoys spending time with her husband, Reed, and her extended family.
